Air Powered Car?

Outstanding!

Will this become next battle of Greed v Green?

His last comment, “this car disturbed a lot of big companies”, is probably very true. Unfortunately for big oil companies’ cars that run on air could be their worst nightmare. Anyone ever see the documentary film “Who killed the electric car”? It’s a shame but it seems that greed will always do its best to overpower green.

  1. Many years ago, probably about 1986, I had a client by the name of Bill Williams - the inventor of Microlon - a product he originally developed to lubricate the barrels of rifles and subsequently found out, that when added to the oil of an engine, made the engine run cooler, increased gas mileage and made the engine last longer due to less wear. One of his employees, eventually left his company and developed a product that is known as Slick 50 which caused some court battles between the two.

Anyway, Bill told me of threats made on his life from both the oil companies and the auto manufacturers. His product not only reduced the need for oil and gas but also made engines last longer due to less wear. I'll have to admit, that he gave me a 'kit' of products that were added to my engine oil and trasmission oil and without a doubt improved the performance of my automobile.

So, I have no doubt that anyone that comes out with new products that will reduce or eliminate the need for oil are threats to the people that are eager to drain every last drop of fossil fuels from our earth while polluting our planet. At least, now, we have an all electric car that is being actively marketed and the energy companies are diverting some of their money towards the development of alternative energies.

    Thanks for the post.

  2. The problem is Slick 50 is a sham in and of itself...

And the air powered car still needs to be filled, with compressed air. That takes energy. Air does not compress itself.

As to "who killed the electric car:" there's a sequel coming out about the resurgence of the electric car.

Good ideas win out in the end. The air powered car is not one of them.

  3. Wow! Looks like someone peed in Ian's Cheerios.

No doubt, Slick 50 is a sham. If you think my comment was an endorsement, it was not. Microlon products have been approved for use in aircraft engines. Based on the types of tests a product has to go through before it's approved by the FAA, I'd probably think that their product is a bit better. That, and the treatment is a one time treatment. The company doesn't recommend that any engine be treated more than once.

As far as the energy required to compress air, that energy can come from electric which in turn could come from turbines powered by water flow. In the end, you have a totally green product and I can't imagine any reason there would be any reason why an air powered car can not be a good idea for local, short commutes. In the end, it's probably better than an electric automobile at this time since compressed air is readily available and there aren't as many recharge stations for electric cars.
